A distress call has been issued by Nehemiah James (Yclef), a concerned citizen and son of the soil, as the people of Ruruma community and other villages in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State face a severe kidnapping crisis. According to James, the once peaceful villages have been thrown into a state of panic and fear as kidnappers have taken over the communities. "The kidnappers, who are believed to be operating from nearby forests, have been demanding hefty ransoms from the families of their victims, leaving many in financial ruin," James said. The kidnappings have led to a decline in economic activities, as many have abandoned their farms and businesses for fear of being abducted.
