KADUNA STATE UNDER SIEGE: RURUMA COMMUNITY AND VILLAGES IN KAURU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA CRY OUT FOR HELP AGAINST KIDNAPPERS, (YCLEF) RAISES ALARM

A distress call has been issued by Nehemiah James (Yclef), a concerned citizen and son of the soil, as the people of Ruruma community and other villages in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State face a severe kidnapping crisis.

According to James, the once peaceful villages have been thrown into a state of panic and fear as kidnappers have taken over the communities.

"The kidnappers, who are believed to be operating from nearby forests, have been demanding hefty ransoms from the families of their victims, leaving many in financial ruin," James said.

The kidnappings have led to a decline in economic activities, as many have abandoned their farms and businesses for fear of being abducted. Despite several reports to the authorities, the kidnappings continue unabated, with the people feeling abandoned and helpless.

The community is demanding:

1. Increased security presence in the area

2. Establishment of a permanent security base

3. Support and compensation for families of victims

4. Investigation and prosecution of those behind the kidnappings

The people of Ruruma community and other affected villages are calling on the government and relevant security agencies to intervene and restore peace to their communities.

"We urge the government and relevant security agencies to take immediate action to address the plight of our people and restore peace to the communities," James said.

The community is also calling on well-meaning Nigerians to join them in demanding action from the government to save their communities from the grip of kidnappers.
